Date Night Ideas In Dallas Before Baby44 - date night ideas dallas

A guide for soaking in this season together before everything changes in the most beautiful way

There’s something really special about the season before baby arrives.

It’s quiet in a way it won’t be for a while. Slower. A little more flexible. And while there’s so much anticipation for what’s to come, there’s also something worth holding onto right now… the two of you.

If you’re expecting and looking for ways to spend intentional time together before your world shifts (in the best way), here are five of my favorite date night ideas dallas before baby arrives.

1. Dinner at Written by the Seasons + A Movie Night

If you’re craving a slower, more intimate evening, start with dinner at Written by the Seasons in Bishop Arts.

The menu is seasonal, thoughtful, and just feels a little more elevated without being overly formal. It’s the kind of place where you can sit, talk, and actually enjoy your food without feeling rushed.

After dinner, keep the night simple and head to a nearby theater for a movie. There’s something nostalgic about ending the night that way. No plans, no pressure. Just being together.

2. A Walk Along Katy Trail + Uptown Stroll

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxed (and pregnancy-friendly), an evening on the Katy Trail is always a good idea.

Take a walk, light jog, or bike ride depending on how you’re feeling, then stop by the Katy Trail Ice House for a cold non-alcoholic drink.

From there, wander into Uptown. Pop into a few shops, take your time, and enjoy the kind of unplanned evening that becomes a memory without trying too hard.

3. Dallas Stars Game Night

For something a little more fun and high-energy, a Dallas Stars game is such a great date night.

Make a whole evening out of it:

Pre-Game:
Grab dinner in Victory Park. 60 Vines is always a great option, or stop by White Rhino Coffee for something lighter.

Gear Up:
Swing by The Hanger Team Store inside the American Airlines Center and pick up something fun for the game.

Arrival:
Doors open about 60 minutes before puck drop. If you can, take the DART to Victory Station to make things easy.

The Experience:
Watch warm-ups, grab a snack, and just enjoy being in the energy of it all. It’s something you’ll remember doing “before baby.”

4. Design District Stroll + Dinner at The Tango Room

If you want something that feels a little more elevated and romantic, spend an evening in the Dallas Design District.

Start by exploring local shops, art galleries, and showrooms. Take your time. This is one of those areas where you don’t need a strict plan.

Then end your night at The Tango Room.

It’s intimate, moody, and perfect for a date night that feels a little more special. The kind of place where you linger at the table a little longer and soak it all in.

5. A Slow, Intentional Night at Home

This one might not be flashy, but it’s usually the most meaningful for “soon-to-be” parents.

Order takeout from your favorite spot. Light a candle. Put your phones away. Talk about what you’re excited for, what you’re nervous about, and what you hope this next season looks like.

Because once baby arrives, your time together will look different.

It will still beautiful. Still full. But different.

And these quiet nights? They’re worth holding onto too.

One More Thing…

This season before your newborn arrives is so special, and goes by so fast.

So if there’s anything you take away from this blog post it’s to savor the in-between right now. The long pause before everything changes.

Whether that’s a dinner out, a walk through the city, or a quiet night at home, you don’t have to do something extravagant, just enjoy each other’s company, and be present with one other.

And if you’re documenting this season with maternity photos, these are the kinds of memories that make your images feel even more meaningful years from now.
