If you have little kids, you already know that choosing where to eat is about so much more than whether the food is good. There’s also nothing more frustrating than showing up to an argyle restaurants and finding out they won’t seat you because you have kids.
On top of trying to figure out…
Is there something my child will actually eat?
Can they be a little loud without me feeling like everyone is staring at us?
Is there enough space that dinner doesn’t immediately feel stressful?
As a mom living in the Argyle area, I’m always looking for argyle restaurants where the food is actually worth leaving the house for, but where bringing my daughter doesn’t feel like an Olympic event.
Thankfully, we have some really great argyle restaurants that make eating out as a family a little easier.
Here are five of my favorites.
Table of Contents
1. Little Joe’s Farmstead
Little Joe’s Farmstead is one of those places that just feels easy with kids.
It has a warm, casual atmosphere and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so it works whether you’re meeting another mom for coffee, grabbing lunch after an activity, or trying to get everyone fed before bedtime.
They also have an actual kids menu with things little ones will recognize, including burgers, chicken tenders, corn dogs, macaroni and cheese, and pasta. Kids meals are served with grapes and fries, which honestly feels like a win when everyone at the table can find something they’ll eat.
I especially love that it feels like somewhere you can linger a little instead of rushing your kids through a meal.

Why families will love it: Casual atmosphere, breakfast through dinner, coffee for Mom, and plenty of kid-friendly food.
2. Marty B’s
If you live anywhere around Argyle, there’s a good chance Marty B’s is already somewhere in your rotation.
This is one of my favorite options when you want somewhere that still feels fun for the adults but works really well with kids too. The atmosphere is lively enough that you’re not spending dinner desperately trying to make your child whisper, which automatically earns points in my book.
It’s the kind of place that works for a casual family dinner, meeting friends, or bringing grandparents along when nobody can agree on where they want to eat.
And because we’re in Texas, barbecue is basically its own food group.

Why families will love it: Relaxed Texas atmosphere, plenty of space, great food, and a setting where kids can actually be kids.
3. 407 BBQ
Another obvious choice for family-friendly Argyle restaurants is 407 BBQ.
This family-owned barbecue spot is about as Texas as it gets, serving brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, sides, and all the things you want when barbecue is calling your name. They even serve breakfast Tuesday through Saturday if your family is more of a breakfast-out kind of crew.
There’s also a kids meal where little ones can choose a meat, a side, and a roll, which makes it easy to order something simple without buying them a giant adult-sized barbecue plate they will inevitably eat three bites of.
407 BBQ
Why families will love it: Casual, unfussy, easy kid options, and really good Texas barbecue.
4. Hilltop Truck Park
Sometimes sitting your kids down at a traditional restaurant is simply not the vibe.
That is where Hilltop Truck Park comes in.
Hilltop is a food truck park and gathering space in nearby Northlake, making it a great option when everyone wants something different or you want a meal that feels more like an outing than a sit-down dinner. Hilltop Truck Park
I love places like this with little kids because there is naturally more movement and less pressure for everyone to sit perfectly still through an entire meal.
It is also a great choice for meeting another family because you can hang out, grab food, and let the evening feel a little more relaxed.
Why families will love it: Multiple food options, casual atmosphere, and more freedom for little ones who are not interested in sitting quietly at a table for an hour. Also, great alcoholic beverages for Mom and Dad.
5. The Argyle Social
The Argyle Social is the newest option for families. It’s a great option when Mom and Dad want dinner to feel a little more elevated without automatically making it a kid-free occasion.
The restaurant describes itself as family-friendly and serves brunch, lunch, and dinner in a beautifully restored former Argyle firehouse, also formerly known as Earl & Isabella’s.
I also love that it feels rooted in Argyle itself. There’s something special about supporting local places that are becoming part of the community your kids are growing up in.

Why families will love it: Family-friendly without sacrificing good food, atmosphere, or a fun night out for the adults.
Finding Kid-Friendly Argyle Restaurants Doesn’t Have to Be Hard
Eating out with little kids will probably never be completely relaxing.
Someone will need to go to the bathroom the second the food arrives. A drink will inevitably spill. And the meal your child specifically asked for may suddenly become something they have never liked in their entire life.
But finding the right place definitely helps.
These are the kinds of Argyle restaurants I love because they give families room to actually enjoy being together without expecting our kids to suddenly behave like tiny adults.
And honestly, those ordinary family outings are part of the memories too.
The barbecue dinners. The ice cream afterward. The nights when everyone stays out a little later than usual. The restaurant your child asks to visit over and over again.
Those are the little pieces of childhood I think are worth noticing.
And if the idea of documenting your family somewhere you already love sounds more meaningful than standing in a field smiling at the camera for 30 minutes, I would love to photograph it.
Your favorite restaurant, a Saturday morning breakfast, an ice cream date, or anywhere else that feels like part of your family’s real life.
Because family photos can be the memory, too.
