PHOTOGRAPHY EDUCATION

A two-day photography workshop to refine your craft, elevate your portfolio, and fall in love with film. Calling all photographers ready for deeper creativity, honest connection, and portfolio images that actually make you proud.

the dirty details...

This immersive workshop + content day just outside of Bozeman, Montana is designed to help you build a timeless, elevated portfolio while finally learning film photography in a way that feels approachable, artistic, and actually usable for your client work.

Whether you’re a seasoned digital photographer wanting to add film to your offerings…or a newer photographer craving clarity, hands-on teaching, and scroll-stopping content…

This day was made for you.

what's included...

We'll end the day with a A beautifully styled family session with intentional posing, movement, and storytelling. ill walk through some of my favorite poses and prompts, but again this day is designed for you. We'll all take turns directing and posing the models as needed, while also being mindful of the other artists.

Learn the magic of shooting film—metering, exposure, stock choice, workflow, and how to seamlessly integrate film into your family, maternity, and lifestyle sessions. Perfect for photographers searching for: “film photography for beginners,” “how to shoot film,” “film photography workshop,” “35mm photography education.”

We’ll start with an intimate, emotive maternity session designed to help you create elevated imagery that attracts your dream clients. Unlike larger content days, this workshop will be small and focused, giving you the time and space to direct your session confidently. That said, please be mindful of fellow photographers who may be a bit more reserved. This is a collaborative and supportive environment.

My goal is for everyone to walk away with images they’re proud of and techniques they can actually use in their business. Let’s make this a space to learn, grow, and create together.

who this workshop is designed for...

Honestly, this workshop is for any photographer who’s ready to grow. That said, I do recommend that attendees have a basic understanding of photography fundamentals. We won’t be covering how to use your camera or general camera settings (outside of what you’ll learn specific to film), so if you’re brand new to photography, this might not be the best starting point.

But, if you’re on the fence, please reach out. Send me an email, and I’m happy to chat through where you’re at and whether this workshop would genuinely be a good fit for you.

"I had such a wonderful experience working with Kayla Mari Photography for my branding session! From start to finish, Kayla made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She has such a natural way of guiding you while still letting your personality shine through. The whole process felt effortless and fun, and the photos truly exceeded my expectations—they captured exactly the look and feel I wanted for my brand. Kayla is professional, creative, and has such an eye for detail. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

why workshops matter in your business...

If you want to stand out in a saturated industry, you need two things:
strong artistry + a portfolio that reflects it.

Film slows you down.
It elevates your eye for storytelling.
And it creates imagery that feels nostalgic, emotional, and real—
the kind families will always choose.

This workshop gives you the foundation, the practice, and the content to make that shift.
